Socrates said “The unexamined life is not worth living” and since then we have found numerous ways of examining our lives. Life coaching may be the newest. Until the 90s this type of coaching was only found in corporate culture. Now due to its demand and a new understanding of it value, life coaching is quickly becoming a sought-after service and career. It has been shown to be a great strategy to improve health, wealth and happiness.

Getting our emotions in control and setting goals is a major part of a successful life. As I may have stated earlier each emotion has a different place in our bodies that it will effect. Fear turns up the tone in our neck, shoulders, jaw and head. It is this reflex, that is part of our survival instinct, to rise our shoulders up and guard our neck and all of its arteries from attacking predators. The Lyons, Tigers and Bears. This is great short term but if it goes on to long it will soon start to break down the tissues of this area leading to pain and degeneration. Ridding ourselves of this chronic condition is vitally important to health. We must create a transformation of fear into action. That is the true biological purpose of fear, to lead to motion or action to solve the situation that we see as dangerous.

Transformation of self takes a re-focus on the patterns we have used to conduct our lives so far. It introduces new more effective strategies of action that are more effective. Strategic intervention is a technique put together by Anthony Robbins and Cloe Madanes. How do we create change in ourselves? We need to find our own personal sense of purpose and strength and tap into this power. Get leverage on yourself. Associate pain with staying the same way you are and pleasure with getting what you want. This happens when we get sick on a food or beverage for example. A food we once loved that we now will associate with pain due to the sickness we felt. We now no longer have a positive neurological association to this once loved food, because we now associate it with sickness. You can do this with any behavior that you feel is limiting you.

Things to Consider

1 ) Emotional state

How do I feel? What happens to us can effect how we feel, no one can argue about that. What is much more powerful is that how we feel effects what happens to us. What we think about expands in our lives. As we think about a topic we tend to talk about it more. Then people add to it in conversation further expanding the time invested in this topic. Soon we have spent an inordinate amount of time on a topic that may be disturbing and destructive to our mood and our true purpose in life. Talk about what you want and where you want to go. I find it much more interesting to talk to someone who is talking about where they want to go than someone who is hovering on their past. The past is often a distortion of the truth or even a series of regrets.

2 ) Focus

What am I focusing on. The things I want? or am I stuck on the things I don't want? Am I looking only at the problem or at the solution. Do I see the opportunities or just the obstacles. Fear makes us focus on the danger. The solution is to change focus to where you want to go, what you want. Anyone who golfs will tell you if you think about the water that is in front of you and not the hole you are shooting at the ball will go in the water most of the time. Here is a great example, look around the room you are in for all the things that are brown. Keep looking until you get all of them. OK, now close your eyes and tell me all the things that are red! Keep your eyes closed, what can you remember? Not much right? Open your eyes and look now at all the red stuff. More than you thought right. Focus is what I just demonstrated to you. “Seek and you shall find.”

3 ) Meaning

A deeper reason We need to shift the meaning and replace it with new more powerful ones. What will doing this new behavior accomplish? Love, freedom and respect?

4 ) Relationships

Who do I care about right now? We need to be reminded of the love in our lives the people who matter. Love is the strongest force we have available to us. Who am I doing this for?

5 ) Strategy

Small actions with big consequences. You may believe your problem is big right? If you didn’t you would have solved it by now. Ask what is the smallest action you can take to turn this problem around? A problem can be like sand in your shoe. It feels bad but when you take off the shoe and see how small the irritation is and how easy it was to get rid of it, its amazing. Very often when you solve one problem it actually solves numerous other issues as well. Start with the smallest step first.

6 ) The Worthy Ideal

The Worthy Ideal is like a mission statement. In this case I put together a 4 line very well thought out series of statements that contain some of the most powerful words that describe what makes me tick in the first line. Words that describe actions that when I am doing them, I am empowered and feel so good that I would not care if I was getting paid, what time it is or how long it takes to complete.

“To teach, inspire and ultimately bring on the healing Of those who seek higher levels of health and vitality So they can take action now to live a more powerful, passionate and purposeful life!”
